Vladimir Lenin was born on 10th April, 1870. He was the very first leader of one of the most powerful revolutions in history, the Russian Revolution. He was represented by Old Major in the book Animal Farm. They both died shortly after the revolution started. Karl Marx was the other character Old Major represented in the book, which ironically is who greatly influenced Lenin's political development. They were both given high honors after their deaths, lenin in the USSR, where his corpse was placed in a mausoleum on Moscow's Red Square. While Old Major was deeply remembered in the hearts of every single animal. Old Major had a meeting with all the animals to share his ideas, while Lenin wrote a book called What is to be done? in 1902 arguing for a party of professional revolutionaries dedicated to overthrowing the Tsar. The reason George Orwell represented Lenin as a boar is because a boar will eat everything in the environment, while Lenin uses everyone that believes in his ways. In the end Lenin trusted too many people which semi caused his death. "Lenin" 2013 "Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924)" 2013
